Frithsden Copse, Berkhamsted, Herts HP4 2RG
One of Hertfordshire's most magnificent
houses set in 5 acres of totally secluded
gardens in natural trust woodland
in an area of outstanding natural beauty
and archaeological significance, 5
minutes from Berkhamsted
station

At the moment Frithsden House is a 6500 sq ft 1940’s building (see existing floor plans). Last year (2007)
planning consent was achieved to extend and reconstructed the property to create a magnificent "super"
8000 sq ft mansion. (see new floor plans) all glass, and shiny chrome - a sort of 21st century art deco feel
In such a protected area (outstanding natural beauty, green belt and archaeological significance) this sort
of planning permission is rare. In fact when built there will be nothing rivalling such a building in size or
location anywhere locally.
The new property proposed will tick all of the boxes at the top end of market. Security, seclusion, hi tech
gadgetry, cinema room, indoor leisure centre with pool, outdoor pool, tennis court, large and fully
equipped kitchen , impressive entertainment areas/dining room as well as large bedrooms all with
balconies and views over the garden with a particularly attractive master suite with large dressing room
and wet room.
At the moment a decision hasn't been made as to exactly what the building will look like. The plans
currently approved are for a house a little like the artists rendition above (and the computer graphics
below) - but it need not be like that - the only stipulation the planners have is that, if possible, the existing
building is extended in some way, rather than knocked down.
The cost of doing this at todays prices is about £1mn

From the front new glass atrium and entrance
From the side - lots of glass to see the garden
